PRESS RELEASE

State Securities funds South Wales printing company’s new Heidelberg printing press

Key points :

  • Purchase of new Heidelberg printing machine enabled increased production and rise in profitability
  • Deal completed despite minimal deposit
  • Long term payment arrangement established to ease cash flow

Wednesday, 20 June 2007: A leading asset funder, State Securities, was approached by one of its network of finance brokers to provide funding for their client, a well established general and trade printing company in South Wales.  The company wanted to purchase a new piece of printing kit to enable them to increase their production and boost profitability.

The new equipment, a Heidelberg press, cost £170k and, as the client only had a £5k deposit, the traditional high street lenders were uninterested in financing the asset.

As specialists in these types of deals where only a minimal deposit is available,
State Securities was able to tailor a bespoke finance deal which included repayment over a 6 year period, incorporating a further £5k deposit in the first 12 months of the deal.

Kevin Dew, Senior Account Manager, State Securities, commented, “Even with a minimal deposit, we were able to provide the funding, enabling the customer to complete the purchase. Spreading the repayments over 6 years ensured the customer’s payments were manageable, and along with the increased turnover generated by the new equipment, cash flow was not affected.”

The deal exemplifies State Securities’ expertise and flexibility in creating a bespoke finance solution where other lenders may not have the resources, facilities or appetite to do so.
